## What is Memory?

Memory is a set of notes that persist across all AI interactions. Information you save in Memory is automatically included as context when you use Command Mode or Custom Utilities.

## Use Cases

* **Reference numbers:** passport, driver's license, tax ID, frequent flyer numbers, things you'd otherwise have to dig out of a drawer
* **Professional certifications:** credential IDs, issuing body, dates earned and expiring
* **Academic records:** degree, university, GPA, GCSE or A-Level grades, thesis title and abstract
* **Personal info:** name, role, company, mailing address, signature block
* **Project context:** current projects, team members, technical stack

## Adding Memory Notes

1. Go to the **Memory** page in the settings window
2. Create a new note with a descriptive title
3. Add your content
4. Save. It's immediately available to AI

## How Memory is Used

When you activate Command Mode or a Custom Utility:

1. Vowen gathers your Memory notes
2. They're included in the system prompt sent to the AI
3. The AI uses this context to give more relevant responses

**Example:**

* Memory note titled "AWS Certification": *"AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate, credential ID ABC-12345-XYZ, earned 2024-06-12, expires 2027-06-12."*
* Command: *"Update my LinkedIn About section with my latest AWS certification details."*
* Result: AI fills in the exact credential ID and dates from your Memory note, so you don't have to look them up.

## Tips

* Keep notes concise: shorter context is processed faster
* Update notes when information changes
* Use descriptive titles so you can find notes later
* Don't store sensitive credentials in Memory (use a password manager instead)
