When you name the speakers in a note, those names become people. The Notes page shows each note’s people as avatars, and the People filter lists everyone, so you can find every meeting with a given person. Only real names count. Unnamed speakers such as Speaker 1 are not people. See Speaker identification to name speakers. The People filter open on the Notes page, listing people with their meeting counts

Filter notes by person

1

Click People

It is in the filter row on the Notes page, next to the tags.
2

Pick one or more people

Type in “Filter by person…” to search. The number next to each name is how many meetings they are in.
The list shows notes with any of the selected people. The button reads “2 people” while a filter is on. Click Clear selection to remove it.

Rename a person everywhere

Coming in the next update.
Renaming in the People filter changes the name in every meeting note and manual transcription where it appears.
1

Open the People filter

Click People on the Notes page.
2

Click the pencil next to the name

It appears when you hover the row. A line under the field says how many items will change, for example “Renames Priya Shah in 3 meetings and 1 transcription.” If the person has a voice profile, it adds “Also renames their voice profile.”
3

Type the new name and press Enter

Esc cancels.
After a rename, a bar at the bottom of the window offers Undo for 8 seconds. Hovering the bar pauses the countdown. To change one speaker in one note, use the note’s Speakers tab instead.

Merge two people

Coming in the next update.
If you rename a person to a name that already exists, Vowen merges them. It asks first: “Merge with ?”. Every speaker with the old name takes the new one, and their voice profiles are combined. If both names belong to different speakers in the same note or transcription, a warning says how many items are affected. Both speakers will show the same name there.
A merge cannot be undone.

Sync

Renames and merges sync to your other devices through Cloud Sync, and are applied there too.
