The Meeting Notes tour walks you through a pretend meeting on your own desktop, using the real recording indicator and meeting panel. Nothing is recorded, no microphone is opened and no note is saved. It takes about two minutes.

How to start the tour

The first time you open Notes, Vowen offers the tour. The Take a tour of Meeting Notes prompt with Start tour, Not now and Don't show again Click Start tour to begin, or Not now or Don’t show again to close the prompt. The prompt is offered once, and only if you have 10 or fewer meeting notes. To start the tour at any time, click Watch tutorial in the Notes page banner. The button stays until you have finished the tour once. The tour can’t run during a recording, because it uses the same indicator and panel. Try again after the meeting ends.

What the tour covers

The first part runs on your desktop, with a scripted conversation playing into the indicator and panel. Each step tells you what to try. Click Next to continue, Skip this step to move on, or press Esc to leave the tour.
  1. The indicator. What it shows while Vowen takes notes.
  2. Move it. Drag the indicator anywhere. Vowen remembers the spot.
  3. Pause and resume. Nothing said while paused reaches the transcript or summary.
  4. Mute either side. Hover the indicator to mute your microphone or the meeting audio.
  5. Open the panel. Press the panel shortcut, or click the panel button on the indicator.
  6. The live transcript. Watch lines arrive on the Transcript tab.
  7. Your own notes. Type a line on the Notes tab.
  8. Capture the screen. Attach a screenshot to the meeting.
  9. Flag the moment. Mark what was just said as important.
  10. Ask while it’s still happening. Send a question and read the answer.
  11. Stop. Stopping ends the recording and writes the summary.
On a Mac where Vowen doesn’t have Screen Recording permission yet, the tour first opens System Settings and asks you to drag Vowen into the list. The second part runs inside Vowen. A spotlight moves across the Notes page and Notes settings, from the transcription model and language to the microphone, summary model, real-time preview, panel shortcut and floating indicator. At the end, choose Show me the rest to continue through meeting detection, templates, integrations, watch folders and export, or I’m good for now to finish.
